Access Unleashed began with a personal journey.
Living with celiac disease means that even a trace of gluten can have serious consequences. Everyday environments—restaurants, gatherings, even well-meaning conversations, became places of uncertainty. What others couldn’t see still carried real risk. That reality led to the pursuit of a gluten-detection service dog named Barley.
But along the way, something became clear: this wasn’t just one story.
There are countless individuals living with hidden disabilities, navigating challenges that go unseen, misunderstood, or unsupported. Many could benefit from service dogs, advocacy, and community, but don’t know where to start, or feel like the path is out of reach.
What began as a personal need became a calling.
Access Unleashed was created to change that, not just for one person, but for anyone who has ever felt invisible in their struggle.
Through empowerment, education, and fundraising, Access Unleashed provides visible support for individuals living with hidden disabilities—helping them live with greater freedom, confidence, and dignity.
